Taking the image quality of your Smartphone and other mobile devices to the next level, Toshiba has announced 13 megapixels, CMOS-based sensor called the “TK437” that comes with on-circuit color noise reduction to lower pixel noise, while improving the quality of images. Featuring a dense, sensitive design, the new phone camera sensor touts backside illumination technology to perform efficiently even in low-light conditions.
Measuring 0.33 square inches in dimensions to fit into an 8.5 x 8.5mm size camera module with ease, the 1.12 micrometer CMOS image sensor will be available for $20 in December 2012.
